The firm's expertise includes a wide variety of services for commercial and individual clients including personal injury and insurance litigation, commercial and consumer collections, foreclosures, bankruptcy matters, loan closings, title work and other general services.  In addition, this firm also performs various other duties involving UCC financings, residential and commercial loans, including preparation and execution of loan closings, mortgages and contracting, as well as general notarial work and title opinions.  The firm writes title insurance through Lawyer's Title Insurance Company and has closed secured and unsecured loans for individuals, private and public companies, and most local commercial lending and banking institutions, in addition to representing several condominium associations.  We close all direct financed residential sales, foreclosures, as well as providing general representation and notarial work for the U. S. Department of Veterans Administration Affairs in the District IV area.  In addition, the attorneys provide the gamut of miscellaneous individual legal services, such as, but not limited to personal injury, wills and estates, civil, criminal, corporate, banking and military law.  This firm was selected by competitive bid as one of only four law firms in the pilot and succeeding programs to represent the U. Saloom & Saloom Law Offices, now with a combined total legal experience of over one hundred years, was founded in 1945 by Kaliste J. Saloom, Jr. (now a retired Lafayette City Court/later Louisiana Third Circuit Appellate Court Judge), upon his return from four years World War II service as Special Agent in the Counter-Intelligence Corps of the United States Seventh Army in the North African and European Theatres, during which time he received meritorious commendation for the personal capture of a Nazi general.  The physical address of the office is located at 211 West Main Street, Lafayette (Lafayette Parish), Louisiana, which is in downtown Lafayette across from the Lafayette Parish (Fifteenth Judicial District) Courthouse and two blocks from the United States Western District Courthouse and the City Court of Lafayette.  This firm has been in this same location since 1958, having expanded its facilities in 1991 to double is original size.  In 1987, with the advent of two additional attorneyís, Kaliste J. Saloom, III, and Douglas J. Saloom, the firm was renamed Saloom & Saloom.  In 1990, Gregory J. Saloom entered the practice of law and joined the firm.  In December 1995, Douglas retired from law practice having been elected City Judge of Lafayette.  All members of the Firm have lectured nationally and regionally in Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars for attorney credit hours recognized by the Louisiana and American Bar Associations.
